Church

This might come as a shock to many, but on this Sunday morning I went to mass together with John and Kathy and some of the children who choose to go to church. I wanted to see what it was all about, and it’s also nice to get out of the village from time to time and to have breakfast in town. Even more shocking is that I actually liked it!? Who would have ever thought? Perhaps the fact that it was all in Khmer and I didn’t understand a word of what they were saying played a part in it all, but I found myself enjoying listening to all the singing and watching all the people around me. It was just a very relaxing atmosphere and it gave me an hour to sort of sink into myself and just be. I was touched and impressed by the peoples belief and what it seemed to mean to them, happy for them to have it to turn to I guess…but as for me, I’m definitely still my own God J

I think you are amazing. I read your post all the time and can totally envision you there doing amazing things with and for the kids. I think John and Kathy are great fun and would be good to work with. It does sound like you are run off your feet though. Lots of love!

:) thanks Nicole, I'm so glad you enjoy it! It is good here, living conditions are certainly tough at times, but I do enjoy the work I do here. It's not that hard work, I've come to realize that as long as you give the kids lots of love and just be someone who is there for them and spends time with them, then that's a days job :)
I hope you'll come see me, it would be so much fun!
