World Cup

Oh, I love watching the world cup! It makes me miss my friends from uni. It makes me miss the feeling of standing on a field, with the adrenaline pumping, and with a feeling of being unstoppable, unbeatable...surrounded by people you respect and admire...to look over at someone who fights just as hard as you do, who is just as sweaty and probably hurt somewhere...but still give 100%, and to know they are fighting for you as much as for them selves.
Life and sport seems to go hand in hand.

A saturday

A bike ride in the sun on my way to a nice evening among friends.
With a basket full of goodies

Over the bridges of stockholm
To enjoy a beer
with family
and friends
crazy friends
crazy running friends
Running from what one might wonder...but the real question should be "running to where?"

Just because I like it

If I fall, would you pick me up? Probably the most important question of them all...live and learn...

Great People

Finally Svede is back in Sweden, and even though it's just for a month it's so good to see her. It's been nice to have a guest here for 2 nights :) And after hanging and playing with Henry for a whole evening, shopping, biking through the rain, inviting ourselves to Linni and just catching up, I'm reminded again what wonderful friends I have. To top it all up I came home after work today to a cabinet and a fridge filled with food...lucky, lucky me there are some great people in the world...and they've decided to be my friend :)

First swim of the summer

Friday bbq night at Minneberg...and Henry has me swimming. After dinner and some wine by the water I took my first dip of the summer. At first it felt freezing, but the thermometer shows at 19 degrees Celsius and after a while I got used to it. Although it was definitely Henry's "Swim Sara, come on and swim, I wanna swim with you" that got me in. It was later also on my initiative that we got out as I think Henry could have stayed in for an hour. Such a nice night, and when I biked home at midnight in just a tank top it felt almost unreal that it was only June 10th in Sweden.
I can't help but to just love this boy :)
Just hanging in the grass
Time for a swim, and it takes me a lot longer to get in than it takes Henry who just jumps in to me
Cheering me on!
Warming up in the sun afterwards
Sweet little chubby Sam...
...who sure has to put up with a lot

I thank my years of soccer

Somehow I had signed myself up for a 10k run in charity of a blood drive...probably at that time thinking it's a long time until then, I'll have plenty of time to train a bit. But changing jobs, renovating an apartment and spending time with friends and family had my mind thinking of anything but running (actually my mind always seems to be thinking of anything but running)...anyway, so, when I on Sunday was told that I'm suppose to run 10k on Wednesday and I have to pay to do it (not quite back on my feet financially yet...but give 2 months or so :)) I slowly wanted to kill the alien who had taken over my body and written my name on that piece of paper. I don't even have a pair of running shoes (another thing that should be purchased in 2 months or so I guess)! With a pair of 10 year old runners tied onto my feet and a little bit of an upset stomach I stood at the back of the pack of 3000 runners wondering how this was gonna end for me. But as soon as the horn went my competitive spirit and stubbornness took over and I was amazed over how easy it felt to run among others who seemed to be struggling more than me :) Other than the fact that 7k into the race I thought I was gonna poop my pants and for 3k I had to run with my butt-cheeks pressed together and looking like a freak thinking I'm not going to make it, other than that, it was all good. I happily crossed the goal line with a very serious and concentrated face and made it all the way to the bathrooms. Later, once the picnic was all set up, I was one happy camper...I just love love picnics. And even though today there's not a muscle in my body that I'm not aware of, it was definitely worth a nice and sunny evening in stockholm among friends and family.
A big thank you to all my years of soccer which I am sure is what has given me a good bas fitness and is therefore also the reason I made it all the way around a 10k loop without preparation or training.
The 5k crew...
...and the 10k crew!
Go Team Gökboet!
A well deserved and yummy picnic afterwards...
...on a beautiful and sunny day in the parks of Stockholm

Crazy is what keeps me sane

A little bit of craziness always helps when struggles in life sometimes become too overwhelming. Luckily I have this girl to keep me company for times when I feel like I've taken 7 steps backwards and emotions are back on square one. A good dinner, cake and tea outside, while playing silly stupid games on a monday night. Friends
Oh, and biking home through a warm stockholm in the evening, being able to watch the sunset even though it is 10 pm...another lovely thing about Sweden :)

Update

So, as soon as the kitchen became functional it also came to a stand still work wise for me. For 2 weeks now I feel like nothing has happened. Maybe I've just gotten lazy, or maybe it's because after a day at work my body and joints hurt enough as it is, or maybe it's just my indecisiveness when it comes to picking the tile...I usually know exactly how I want it to look, but this is hard for some reason. It is however coming together and I'm happy with what I've accomplished so far I must say.

Pics from a few days back...my to do list is still long and the tiles are still standing there waiting for my decision :) The table top and dishwasher front is suppose to come in in two weeks.

Good Morning Summer

Waking up at ekerö a morning like this is pretty nice. Got my chairs painted, my windowsill cut the right size, played with Anna, got the boat into the water and got my first t-shirt burn...let the summer begin!

After managing to reverse the car with the boat on the trailer so we could get it into the water I wanna choose to believe what my cousin says about me (quoting Lotta på bråkmakargatan) "It's so strange with you Sara, you know how to do almost everything" :) my new motto in life!

Dancing queens

Linni and I took a spontaneous nigh out dancing...fun...just very much fun...lovely Linni!

The party starts with a good dinner, wine, music, singing, dancing and a photo session :)

Followed by some spinning and dancing (why? i do not know)
The beer mic always seem to come out and is by far the best mic you can get

My favourite boys

A knock on your front door isn't usually the most pleasant wake-up call you can get, but when it's a cute little Henry standing outside with a big smile on his face wanting to play, then it is the best wake-up call ever! What a great way to spend my morning before heading to work!

Brothers snuggling up in my bed
