Coffee
There's a chance I might finally become a coffee drinker. With a 90 year old couple living next door, who's big thing of the day is coffee time at 11 am and 5 pm, I feel I no longer have a choice. I've already been invited 3 times. So today I didn't have the heart to say no when I had actually nothing else planned, so off I went to hang with my new neighbours (who are "soooo happy a young and responsible lady like me have moved in"). To ask for a cup of tea I realized was out of the question as soon as I stepped inside. Luckily the traditional tiny little coffee cups from the finest china were set out, and I could slowly sip a small cup of coffee topped up with both cream and sugar while shoving down a number of cookies. Not to bad actually :) I'm sure many more 11 am or 5 pm coffee invites should be expected.

My birthday
What a beautiful day!
Was woken up by a birthday song and breakfast and presents in bed, by Mom and Johnny. With such beautiful weather however, I brought my breakfast with me and ate outside, nothing beats that breakfast-outside-in-the-sun-feeling. Mom and I decided a cake was to be made and took a bikeride to the store. Linda, Micke, Henry, Sam, Jerry, Signe, Agnes and Tommy all came for dinner. I got a new tv, lottery tickets and an IKEA gift card...everything I needed :) Lucky me!
Henry and I later took an evening ride to the playground and hung out for a while before it was time to get back and head to bed. My night ended on the couch falling asleep with Sam in my lap. Family...love them!
Henry took a garden hose shower
And did a cheers for me in a real champagne glas...he felt so proud
Mom's yummy desert
and then cake too of course
"Kicking" our way to the playground

30
Today is April 24th, 2011...today I turn 30.
Wow, I don't really even know what this means...am I suppose to be grown up now? Am I suppose to have a set profession? A house? A dog? A volvo? A partner? I'm pretty sure that's what I had in mind for me about 20 years ago...man, was I ever wrong.
I'm still only 5 1/2 years old, have no idea what I wanna be when I grow up, I'm squeezed into a studio apartment (that is in the state of construction madness), without a dog, volvo or partner...but common, bring on the 30th! I don't believe my age will ever change in my mind anyway...I am and will forever be 5 1/2 cause I like it that way and weather my driver's license tells the age of 30 or 29 is less important. More important is however to figure out where in life I actually stand. 3 years ago while arranging for a 30th birthday party I remember thinking about what my 30th would look like. Now the fact that I was very wrong 20 years ago isn't such a surprise...but that I'd be that far off only from 3 years ago (as I thought an angel would bring to a tropical island where we'd be sipping margaritas all day on my birthday) has made me realize even more so that life plans are overrated and to just stick with the flow and go where the wind takes me... So, cheers everyone, to the 30th and to the wind!

Good deeds
A beautiful spring day and I was looking forward to my walk to work. The time optimist in me however made for this walk to become more of a stressful slow jog/fast walk...not as enjoyable as predicted. As I start to break a sweat and realize I'm gonna be about 15min late a lady pulls up next to me in her car. She tells me I look "a little bit" stressed and continues to ask if I need a ride to somewhere...wonderful person, yes yes yes, thank you thank you...how easy it is to make someone's day with a small good deed, I need to do more of this! My day started with a smile thanks to a stranger.

Progress
So, it might not be the biggest or the nicest apartment, but it’s mine and I like it…or I’m sure I will like it once I’m done fixing all the thousand ideas that I got in my head. The great thing about doing your own design is that no one can tell you it's wrong, love doing my own way.
Tearing out the kitchen, check
Tear down the wall, check
Rip out the flooring, check
Cutting off old piping, check
Electrical works, check
Next step, keep plastering and plastering the walls...wish I was done already and rid of all the dust
I know for sure that I will never be a tiler...
So it's definitely not an expert doing this work, and it might not be perfect...but it's a lot of heart and soul put into it, as well as sweat, cuts and bruises...my poor aching hands might get a few days break during easter.

Destruction
Tearing down a wall with style...two girls, a crowbar and a hammer...oh what a fun saturday!
You're going down!
Höjer the power house in action
the first hole...
...shortly followed by the first block...yay! The stylish eye protection wear does it all.
Oh, the fun times of tearing down a wall

Sala
A trip to Sala to visit my dear mom and Johnny and Jerry and Signe's 1 week old sweet little Agnes. While there I took the time to go through all my boxes that I've kept there for the past 10 years, in an attempt to sort out my life. It turned out to be a fun time travel experience as I found all kind of crap as well as some great memories from an earlier life. I think a little box with used erasers that I found takes the price though...I lived in the U.S when we moved from the house where my room with stuff still from high school was, and apparently no one dared to throw anything away. My sister has however marked a box with "Sara's room - mostly crap"
